From: SCVSDA Jubilee To: jubilee-update@scvsda.org Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 01:45:12 -0700 Subject: Jubilee Update: parking, food, solo dancers The 51st Jubilee is here! Dancing begins this evening! Some final notes for your information about: * parking * food * solo dancers PARKING Parking is free for everybody participating in Jubilee. Please enter through Gate B -- this is on Tully Road a little to the left of the main entrance (with the arch) of the fairgrounds. Drive straight ahead from Gate B past several buildings until you come to a small traffic circle, then turn right and drive past our buildings and follow the signs to our parking lot. Please DO NOT park next to the buildings, in the RV area, or anywhere on the fairgrounds other than the lot marked for Jubilee parking. For maps showing the location of the fairgrounds and the parking lot, see: http://www.scvsda.org/jubilee-maps.html FOOD In addition to the Saturday night spaghetti dinner, for your convenience there is a snack bar on site, offering items suitable for lunch, snacks, and, in the mornings, additional breakfast items. It is located adjacent to the main hall in the Pavilion building -- look for it just to the right of and behind the main stage. It will be open the following hours: Friday - 6:00pm to 10:00pm Saturday - 9:00am to 4:30pm Sunday - 10:00am to 4:30pm SOLO DANCERS Are you coming to Jubilee without a partner? Or do you expect your regular partner to be unavailable part of the time -- resting, shopping, or dancing in another hall? We want everybody to have a chance to dance! You'll find some notes on this topic at: http://www.scvsda.org/jubilee-solo.html Also a reminder that at 6pm this evening we are offering an "Arky Workshop", giving people a chance to try learning "the other part" (man dancing woman's part, woman dancing man's part). Many people find that learning this makes it easier to find a partner, especially when trying to fill that one last square. But some people learn it just for fun. (Many youth dancers and most Challenge dancers have already learned to do this.) Either way, if you haven't had a chance to learn this at your own club, this is a great opportunity. DON'T FORGET TO LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT INTRO AND BLAST! The "Introduction to Square Dancing" is tonight at 7pm. The one-day "Blast Class" is this Sunday. Invite your friends who don't yet square dance to come to either or both. Details at: http://www.scvsda.org/jubilee-intro.html http://www.scvsda.org/jubilee-blast.html See you tonight! == Jubilee Update is a service of the Santa Clara Valley Square Dancers Association.
