Location and Hotels ------------------- Jubilee 2010 is at a new (for Jubilees) location, Gunderson High School, 622 Gaundabert Lane, San Jose, located near the intersection of highways 85 and 87, with plenty of free parking onsite. The site provides us with two large halls and two smaller halls for dancing, as well as space for vendors, displays, and everyday hanging out. Gunderson was a popular venue for square dancing many years ago, and we are pleased that it recently has started to be available again. For many of you, dancing will be a series of convenient day trips from home. But if you live further away, or if you just prefer the convenience of staying nearby, there are plenty of hotels to choose from. Jubilee 2010's featured hotel is Holiday Inn Express http://www.holidaysanjose.com/ 2660 Monterey Road, San Jose, CA 95111 Special room rate: $79 one bed (1 or 2 people) * Free local calls and high-speed Internet * Microwave/refrigerator in each room * 100% non-smoking rooms * Complimentary breakfast To reserve your room at this rate * call the hotel directly at 408-279-6600 * tell them that you are dancing at Jubilee 2010 For information about other nearby hotels, check the Jubilee 2010 website -- http://www.scvsda.org/jubilee-lodging.html Other Activities Jubilee Weekend -------------------------------- Between dancing sessions, you will be able to relax and visit with your friends at our Saturday dinner, provided by The BBQ Connection, and featuring a choice of tip-tip, chicken, or (by advance order) vegetarian lasagna, along with all the customary side dishes. Tickets are $17 when purchased in advance. After dinner, join us for the traditional Welcoming Ceremonies, including a special presentation to Harold Fleeman to honor his many years of calling and other service to square dancing. Also as a break from dancing, you'll be able to visit several vendors who have returned to Jubilee this year. Shop at Square D Fashions, SqDini badges, Cookie Lee jewelry, and R&R Video. Gunderson is a roomy facility, with plenty of comfortable places to hang out, visit with your friends, and look over our customary displays about the history of Jubilee and of square dancing in the South Bay. In short, we think we've put together a great weekend for Plus, Advanced, and Challenge dancers. We hope you agree, and that you say so by registering now for Jubilee 2010.
